Sandy Storm Part 1

Ok folks. I'm doing really well so far. Sitting curled up in my sofa, drinking coffee, eating leftover Daim from Felicia, organizing my bookmarks on my computer and reading blogs.

Last night we closed the store 1 1/2 hours earlier, after selling out of lanterns and flashlights. While walking home, I found myself enjoying a quiet New York. There was something peaceful with having all the 24 hours 7 days a week store being closed. Truly the calm before the storm.

This morning I woke up and laid in bed a full hour before getting up, watching all the news updates to know what to expect. I live in a orange zone, which is very likely getting flooded but we do not have mandatory evacuation.

How does this make me feel?

Well, I'm glad to live 5 floors up. And very glad I'm not living on the 35th floor in one of the skyscrapers. Can you imagine feeling the whole building swing!? THAT would be scary. Right now it is really windy outside and rainy. Like a normal stormy day in October. But the storm is actually still hundreds of miles away. So I'm not expecting to sleep to much tonight. And hopefully the store will be closed and class cancelled tomorrow to.
