Our second visit from out of town.

Last weekend our good friend David was here in the city and we got to spend our Saturday with him. We met up at the Barnes & Noble on 5th Avenue after Seb and I had wander around the bookstore waiting for David to wake up. I was starving so lunch was the first thing on the list. I have heard about this place called Shake Shack that is supposed to have fantastic and greasy burgers. I was curious what all the fuzz was about so we walked over to the closest one. It was a LONG line outside, so we decided not to go there. And I am still curious to know exactly how fantastic those burgers are!
Finally we found a place to have lunch, a really nice little bar with delicious hamburgers and shakes. The mandatory basketball on the TV screens of course.

After lunch we walked down to our apartment to show and tell about our new lifestyle, the american living. Not to much complaining from Davids part on the stair climbing workout so that gave him plus point! And he had also brought with him the Kalles randiga that Seb had gotten from work so I was drooling just thinking of the egg sandwich I would have later in the evening. Major plus points David!

Next thing on the to-do list was shopping. Not for us but for David. So we tagged along giving advice on the latest trends and picking out items that will be hot this summer.
After a few hours of walking and shopping we really were ready to fika. Up and down the avenues we went looking for Crumbs. We found two but none of them had seating. Desperate for some sugar we finally saw a Starbucks with a fairly short line. But as we stood there we felt that something was wrong. Yes they do have a lot of sugar at Starbucks, but the sugar we were craving for was frosting. And frosting you are most likely to find on cupcakes. We left our spot in line and took one last chance at finding something better. We were so lucky that day because just a block up the street we found a Crumbs! A Crumbs that was empty and with seating! So we took the mandatory 15 minutes to decide on the flavors and then enjoyed true americanism.

Thank you for getting us addicted Katie!

 Half way there...

 Interesting discussions.

So over all it turned out to be a really nice day. We walked over 4 km and next time we will be ready to try the 1000+ calories Strawberry Chocolate Cheesecake cupcake. Are you understanding that it is 1000+ calories in a single size cupcake! Crazy!
